Mia is the managing attorney for Murphy Law Office, PLLC and founded the firm in September 2000. Mia is a graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law (1994) and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (1990). She is admitted to practice by the Idaho State Bar, the Federal District of Idaho Bar, the Arizona State Bar, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Ms. Murphy's practice focuses on real estate transactions and litigation, business entity formation (corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies), litigation, advice, management, and dissolution. She assists employers with a variety of employment law issues (employment handbooks, benefits, hiring practices and employee rights). Additional areas of concentration include elder law, civil litigation, creditor’s rights, and contract law.
Mia also has extensive experience in appellate practice and was the Chief of the Appellate Unit for the State Appellate Public Defender's office and was a Deputy Attorney General in the areas of capital litigation and federal habeas corpus from June of 1996 until January 1999.
Mia is an active member of the community and has had many speaking engagements at conferences held throughout the Treasure Valley. She has served on the board of directors for many non-profit organizations and regularly volunteers her time and services.
Jake is a senior associate attorney at Murphy Law Office, PLLC, joining the firm in February 2022. He is admitted to practice by the Idaho State Bar and the Federal District of Idaho. Jake received his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2020 with the Business Law and Entrepreneurship Emphasis with a focus on Enterprise Organization.
Jake also graduated cum laude from Boise State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and an additional Certificate in Dispute Resolution. He also holds a certificate in civil mediation from the Northwest Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Jake is an Idaho native, raised in the Boise area. He joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating high school in 2008. Jake served a combat tour in Afghanistan in 2010 with 2nd Battalion 6th Marine Regiment before being Honorably Discharged in 2012.
Jordan Hendry
Jordan is an associate attorney at Murphy Law Office, PLLC, joining the firm in January 2025. She is admitted to practice law by the Idaho State Bar after receiving her Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2017. Prior to law school Jordan graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
Jordan started her legal career at an insurance defense firm and shortly thereafter became a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Ada County where she prosecuted a myriad of felony and misdemeanor cases for a little over six years. Jordan specialized in domestic violence cases for a large period of her time at the Prosecutor's Office, where she was able to advocate for vulnerable crime victims.
Through her prior employment she gained extensive courtroom and trial experience.
April joined Murphy Law Office in 2018. She brought with her nearly 10 years of knowledge and experience in the title and escrow industry. She also spent 3 years in a law office assisting in civil litigation matters. April provides support to the firm by researching properties, drafting pleadings, preparing estate planning documents and business formation documents as well as interacting with clients, trial preparation and scheduling appointments.
